Hey.

My boyfriend and I are headed to Jeongdongjin beach for this upcoming long weekend. We saw the beach briefly on our train ride back from Gangneung last year, and it seemed to have a lot of places to stay.

Does it? My internet searches and tour2korea searches only turned up two hotels....but what about love motels, minbaks, or other hotels?

(we are looking to stay at the beach and not head back into Gangneung for the night)

Also, does anyone know if there are a lot of restaurants available?

Well, you're probably already there, but I'll post this for future travelers. Yes, there are lots of motels and minbaks available. If you want to go upscale, there isn't much to choose from. There are also plenty of seafood restaurants and I'm sure you can find pretty much any type of Korean food you'd want. If you're looking for anything western, you're probably out of luck...but if it's squid that you're after, you'll have no problem! Since you've already been to Gangneung, you know that the city buses connect to Jeongdongjin if you can't find a restaurant that suits you.
