| Is there anyone with an F-2 or F-4 visa who has tried opening their own school or anyone who was asked to open a school with another director? I'm curious to see if it's tough? Are there any tricks the director might pull? |

| Thanks for the link. I am just wondering what some of the pitfalls might be? We are opening in 2 months and want to be better prepared for the ride! |

Just curious as to how you plan to open in two months, but want information now. No offense, but seems a bit backwards!
Good luck to you. If you are open, have teachers, and are in a decent neighborhood, you shouldn't have a problem. |

To paraphrase a classic: What do you call a hundred hagwon directors at the bottom of the ocean? A good start!
You are entering a sharktank, lets hope you can swim!
Seriously though, good luck |

no experience myself with hagwons but think PR and relationship management.
my boss keeps the money coming in by being real chummy with the parents, as a white face can make a lot of free adverts, invite local paper to your school, have an open day, when kids say hello to you give them a business card and a candy or something, give t shirts to the best kids in the hagwon.
parents see them know that kids has good english put 2 and 2 together get 5.
once youv'e got them through the door, keep them! more important than attracting new customers, know the families offer incentives if they have a business use it i.e. buy fruit, makeup, eat at their restautant etc.
also think about after school programs and contracting out, my hagwon doubles its turnover this way, so be real friendly with headteachers maybe a free class for the korean teachers or something.
as you're the biggest expense don't see how you can fail really
would be nice to have follow up posts as im intrested, good luck, im jealous
