Back story. I work for a not so decent hagwon a few of the teachers are leaving soon and the school is interviewing new people.

A few of the potential teachers have requested to speak with a teacher on the phone before making their decision. This is smart... get to know what the school is really like. The only problem is that the director sits behind me and listens in on the conversation so I can't really answer your questions because I don't want to go through the hassle of getting fired before the end of my contract.

Anyways, sorry to ramble but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE e-mail the current teacher about the school. I can answer your questions more honestly and you can make an informed decision about if you can handle my school.

ok. end rant.

I also tried to warn people who were applying at my school, but instead of monitoring what we said to applicants, our boss has simply stopped allowing new applicants to speak with us during working hours, or obtain any of our emails or telephone numbers.

I have a sneaking suspicion that a Korean employee at my school poses as a teacher, and that is the email address that she gives out to prospective employees.

Where is your school located? Any details you can give would be helpful to people who are looking to avoid a crap school.
