Does anyone know how to get tickets in Seoul and how to get a tourist visa? I heard they are making it harder to visit China.

I got my visa a few weeks ago. Go to a travel agency, pay them 170,000 and you should get your visa. The Chinese Consulate no longer does the visas, so you'll have to go through an agency such as CTS.

As for Olympic tickets i have no idea.

China jacked up the price for Americans. Since the lazy consulate also forced me to go through a travel agency that added to the cost.

The Chinese are notorious for ripping people off. When i was at the travel agency a man was complaining for his change; he gave them $200 and they didn't pay back the difference. The staff were sitting around with dazed looks on their faces while pretending they didn't understand a word he said.

THe Beijing olympics might not be the safest olympics to go to. Things will probably be fine but a lot of things can go wrong. There are a lot of chinese who are not happy with the government. The chinese government doesn't trust it's own people. Patriotic feelings will be running hight which could spark an incident. That doesn't seem very safe. A paranoid government, a dissatisfied people who quickly take offense, and an emotionally charged atmosphere. That is always a winning combination. When Beijing won the olympics and crowds of people gathered to celebrate the chinese government had the army move into the city in case the crowds got out of hand.
YOu might want to reconsider going.

I also expect a terrorist act at the Olympics (Chinese power, corruption, war and control equals a lot of unhappy people including terrorists). I wouldn't go to either the Olympics in China nor in England.

It is going to be a total disaster but I could be wrong.
