Sorry for double posting if this topic is being covered already. I just got the heads up from my School Principal here in Cheongpyeong that the H51 virus strain or "bird flu" has officially hit the Cheongpyeong area which is on the way to Chuncheon for those of you who know the area. There is a scheduled culling of poultry scheduled for Wednesday morning some time. Not sure of the extent of the outbreak, but it will certainly affect market prices very soon. My principal is a pretty reliable guy, so I am guessing this is an accurate report of the facts. The principal indicated that the virus had been detected in a local supplier's operation, and suspected that it was small, but any outbreak is just that, and outbreak. I will share more details as they become available, but if you live in the highway 46 corridor, be extremely careful about buying or cooking your poultry.
