Wow, i like dumb science fiction, and I like ridiculous '80s cheese, so i really liked 'Doomsday,' a new Scottish/ South African schlockfest flick.
It's got Bob Hoskins and Malcolm McDowell. Wow, those dudes are such slatterns now! They're awesome. They'll do anything so long as they get paid.
Very dumb movie...It's a sort of hybrid, made of small pieces of many other silly movies, stitched messily together. Picture 'Road Warrior' mixed with 'Escape from New York' (except it's Glasgow) mixed with any number of horrible apocolyptic plague movies.
It's got:
Many exploding people!
Inane dialogue!
Shockingly stupid derivative plot with more holes than a Tiajuana megabrothel!
Cannibals! Cannibal punks, even!
Fast cars!
Intensely yucky plagues!
Knights in armor!
Malcolm McDowell!
Mean, stupid bad guys!
Mean, stupid good guys!
A funny soundtrack!
Guns!

Good fun.

Oddly enough the more movies I see the more the only movies that actually entertain me are this exact kind of movie. Bring on the schlock!
