I'm looking to adopt a dog and was wondering where the Seoul animal shelters are, if non-Koreans can adopt, and if they're open on Saturdays. Any info. is appreciated.

I just adopted a kitten from the Chungwha animal hospital in Itaewon, not sure if they have any dogs but worth a visit here:

This is in Daejeon, I think it's still open? Not sure how far away from Seoul that is:

Hello.

Your best bet is to go to www.animalrescuekorea.org and take a look. It's a great site full of people advertising the dogs they are fostering, and drawing attention to various shelters with animals looking for homes. There are a lot of dogs from the Daejeon shelter currently in foster care with various foreigners and koreans, looking for a forever home. By adopting a fostered dog, you have the added benefit of hearing about it's personality before deciding on it, and figuring out if it's right for you.

If you're willing to go down to the Daejeon shelter (a group meets every Saturday at Seoul Station to go together), there are still around 190 dogs waiting to be rehomed (Deadline is end of June). There's a fundraiser being held on May 23rd in Itaewon, and many of the fostered dogs will be in attendance, if you wanted to meet them.

I'd also second checking out the Chungwha hospital, as they often take in strays.
