My boss is all about doing things the last minute. For the past three times we've extended my E-2 she's gathered all the documents and gotten it done on the last day.

I didn't realize that I'm going to need a CRC until this past weekend...so am now trying to figure out how to get that done. It looks like I've got to mail (or fax?) copies of my ID and a letter that states it's okay for a relative to get the CRC and send it back to me. I'm still not clear if I need to then travel to Seoul (really? I have to go way up there?) to the Canadian Embassy to get it authenticated once I've received it. From what I've read, that may be the case.

So I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what might happen if I don't have the CRC (which is just going to say I've got no record) in hand by May 31st, when I have to renew. Are they going to demand I piss off home? I wonder if a faxed copy might suffice until they've got the real thing.

If you have PROOF (like a money order receipt payable to the RCMP and an EMS receipt that shows you sent it) that you have applied for your CRC, they may extend you for a brief time (to give it time to arrive)

Without that, they will NOT extend your work visa.
