What type and size opf accomodation were you provided??
I am in Korea and have been teaching in a Hagwon for 2 years but its time for a change. I am married to a Korean so have F2 visa. I just read in their information section of the web site and it stated the for "married teachers a 2 bedroom appartment or larger" would be provided. Is this true?? If so. What size and standard are they? thanks a lot |

It depends on the school, it depends on the school, it depends on the school.
ALSO, they have been know to give F2/F4 visa holders a run-a-round on housing by refusing housing and refusing to provide the housing allowance.
You may have an up hill battle - depending on your school, how bad they want you and the availability / cost of housing in the area.

I am on an F-2 (and know of 2 other F-2 teachers) and have school provided housing through Gepik. There was no issue with it. I have not even heard of any issues with F-2 visa holders
It depends on the area. If you are in a cheaper area they will put you in a villa (2 bedroom older place).. I opted for an officetel.. so it is only one bedroom. |

It will depend on the area which the school is in, as others have already stated. Apparently if you live in Suwon then your school will pay up to 350,000 a month for your place. But if your school is in Bundang then they'll go as high as 700,000 per month. |

In Suwon last year, school got us a villa in a more expensive part of town.
6M key money and 650K a month.
This year we are in Yongin, and housing is cheaper. The school is privately owned and I don't know what the school paid for accommodation, but they got us a good sized apartment.
Depends on the school, nothing to do with Gepik. |

My school (in Uijeongbu) crapped themselves when I said I was getting married and that I would require an upgrade. They tried all kinds of shit to prevent it. They even said that a korean wife will be happy in 1 room. Yeah right!
They agreed to upgrade the housing at the end of my contract and so I signed a new contract. They then said they had no key money so they were going to give me the 300 a month housing allowance and I was to find my own place. Bastards!
I negotiated a larger monthly allowance and then paid my own key money (15m). They then tried to hold me to the 300/month but I caused a huge stink and eventually got the higher allowance. I also made a commitment to myself to leave as soon as I was settled in my new place.
Be careful with GEPIK schools and be sure to see your housing before you sign anything with them. There will be a job in the 'bu opening up in July (my job). If you get offered one around this time, be sure to message me and make sure it is not the same place (or get advice on surviving there). |

I'd say it depends on the school also.
My housing is nice, but has a few problems (strange smell from the drain I can't get rid of... very loud on weekends)
Other than that, it's very well furnished, clean, and slightly larger than my last couple of places.
As far as apartments go, it's pretty good. |
