This guy wants to debut in America and win fortune and fame, but has the gall to jump on the anti-American beef bandwagon. I hope he realizes that he can kiss those dreams goodbye, the hypocrite.

Takes some balls to swipe your stage name from the name of a popular American movie.

Rest easy in the knowledge that nobody outside of this country gives a crap about Sebuhn, Rain, Mina, Ivy, Hyori, Wonder Girls, and the dozens of other Korean acts that were guaranteed to make it overseas.

You say that as if anyone in the US would give a shit either way.

Exactly. I've never heard of him and I doubt anyone else has.

I think what Se7en actually said was "I would rather eat Gwyneth Paltrow's head from the movie bearing my name than eat American beef."

Unfortunately, this comment was misinterpreted, lost in translation and the audience couldn't understand Korean culture anyway. Wink

Well, Stephen Colbert really has it in for Rain. They had a dance off that was fairly hilarious.

Yeah, I wouldn't call that "making it."

Yes, it's a cultural misunderstanding, like when some Gyeonggi council members fondled a statue's genitals and laughed about it.

What I loved about Colbert's video is someone obviously watched Korean TV because they had the big, pointless subtitles you see on Korean TV, with the exclamation marks and such (HE'S SINGING IN KOREAN!!!)

I think most of you guys are failing to appreciate this for what it can be. Those of us who live here know that Korea constantly talks about the "wave" that's "destroyed" (SE) Asia and has even begun to take over Europe and America. People in these countries are eager to learn about Korea.

Yet, Koreans feel confident in saying things that might be hurtful to their images outside Korea because... wait for this... they know no one is listening! What is said in Korea stays in Korea and there are no anxieties that it will trickle beyond national gossip because no one in the world cares about what's being said in Korea.

It's a beautiful contradiction.
