Hey guys,

I taught in Korea between 2009-13 before moving to Australia. I'm toying with the idea - though still not sure - of making a return to Korea. However, if I was to do that, I would have a different passport (i.e. new passport) to what I was there with previously.
Would I be able to rock up in the ROK with my documents, find work, then go on a visa run as I did back in the day (i.e. will Kimmi still have my details on record via my old passport number)? Or, would it require me to go back to my home country (not Australia) and apply from scratch?
The latter is hopefully not the case, but the thought randomly occurred to me last night...

Cheers

JD

If you have been out of the country for more than 90 days then you start all over again from scratch.

The good news is that you can still do it from Australia or come to Korea and do it from here.

The bad news is that the process of obtaining legalized documents, when you are not in your home country, is time consuming and awkward. If you are American it is easier and faster to fly home to get it done than it is to get it done while abroad.
