I am starting a job at a middle school in Bundang this June. June 15th to be exact. I have a pet cat here in the U.S. and I want to bring her with me. I even have a Korean friend who lives in Bundang who said his family will take care of her until I get settled in, but I don't know what I have to do to get her in the country. Has anyone here brought a pet into Korea before? Any advice?

Sorry if there is a thread somewhere else about this. I'm in a hurry to go meet my friends for a couple beers and I didn't want to go searching.

Thanks.

i brought my dog in april 07 and they need to get a travel certificate from the US (issued by vet), need to be up to date with all there vaccination. korean air has a link and application form for traveling w/ pets on their website. my dog was sent via cargo since he was over the allotted weight limit, but your cat should be able to come w/ you on the flight either as checked baggage or possibly carry-on which would save you quite a bit of money/hassle.

no quarantine time for my dog and i suspect cats are the same.
hope this helps.

one more thing: because of the heat, many carriers won't take pets during the summer months so make sure you check the airlines restrictions for june travel for pets.
