so, i have booked my ticket packagee to Cebu through a Korean travel agency or more precisely my girlfriend did,

anyways they have a copy of my passport and they called and asked her to verify my "first name" which i told them was john james, and my last name is smith, and they said no because my alien card has it korean style smith john james, i assured them that regardless of the order, my first name is always the same its john james, anyways, they apparently booked the ticket as john james smith, when i came home and checked my passport it just says Smith on the first line and john james on the lines under it, no mention of actual first or last names but its kinda in the korean order too....

so basically I am aware of what my actual first name is but now i am kinda worried that the name on the ticket mightnt actually match up with that on my passport, my question to you'll is what name should they be printing on the ticket as my first name? thanks for your help.

I wouldn't worry about it.

I wouldn't worry about it, since airline tickets generally print FAMILY NAME (MR, MRS, MS) FIRST NAME MIDDLE NAME. So, regardless of what order they ask you, as long as they are not completely incompetent, if the travel agent, who I assume has done this before, can make the distinction between "last name" and "family name" you should be fine.

I think it is hilarious that she would ask you your first name and then answer "no", though.

As others have said, don't sweat it.

I've travelled with my name order mixed up several times on tickets and boarding passes. As long as they match your passport, however jumbled, it should be fine.

There was an incorrect spelling once when I was in China, because the travel agency misspelled my first name (which is short and easy) -- not even a blink at the airport or going through immigration.
