Hmm, are there any? I saw a $25 turntable the other day here in the states and was thinking of picking it up.

Yes. You can find a lot of them. A lot of used vinyl can be found in Jongno on the street in the markets. You have to look. Hongdae has purple records, more contemporary stuff, more expensive, but whatever floats your boat.

Many of the underground shopping markets have tons (literally) of vinyl music. The Hoeyhun (sp?) underground shopping center near Namdaemun has enough records to keep you busy for an afternoon.

JDog...You are absolutely right with the Dave's ESL comment. I saw this thread and thought, "Oh cool. I have been collecting vinyl for a few years and it would be great to pick some up have way around the world." So thank you for bringing this topic up. It's good to know info like this.

Dave's just breeds little elitist pricks like Bovin who have nothing better to than share a whitty remark that really isn't clever. I usually don't get worked up about things like this, but this is why Dave's is absolutely pathetic. People come for information and instead get flamed.

If anyone else knows any record shops are fair prices, please share. I know vinyl is ridiculously over priced over here.

2nd floor of E-land in Yongsan has a few stores with slews of vinyl.

Anyone know where the largest CD stores are? I've into buying SACD's at the moment, and they're hard to find. I've been to Kyobo and other places like that store in COEX.

Yeah, first of all, thanks to all the people with great input.

I'm living with a guy in Portland who has a phenomenonal record collection, and it just reminds me of all the wacky, off beat stuff you can find on Vinyl that was just never re-released onto CD.

If you have a decent equalizer and turntable you can make that vinyl sound better than a CD.

Does anyone have directions to these places? Where is E-Land? I was just at E-Mart at Yongsan. Is that the same place?

The one in Hongdae looked like a good selection. Near the uni, on that road towards Shincheon.
