Has anyone lived in, or visited this area? I may have a chance to work for a civil service job there...this is what I was hoping for. I've never spent too much time that far south, mostly been up north of Uijongbu....Thanks... |

Yeah I have been there. There are plenty of Americans there. Plenty of prostitutes and all of the normal things that country Korea has to offer....
I actually don't mind the place.........It seems that the locals will other love you, or hate you there....... |

I'm living and working in a hagwon in Waegwan. I am not fond of the place, but this is mostly because of the obtrusive presence of Camp Carroll. Presumably this won't be an issue for you. There's not too much happening in Waegwan, but Daegu is just 20 minutes away.
PM me if you want more info... I'll try to get back to you in a semi-timely fashion. |

I live in Gumi, which is about 15 minutes away by car. I've been to Waegwan several times in the last year and a half. My impression is that is it's very small and boring, not much to see or do. I definitely would not live there. |
