Is it hard to get a 9-3:30 job or a 9-4:40pm position. I have to wait till the afternoon to go to work and I'd rather get it over with during the day and have the afternoon and night off. Is it pretty standard to teach in the afternoon till night? Do University jobs have earlier hours typically?

This has been done to death. If you want to work daytime hours, then you have one of several choices:

a) kindy/early elementary hagwon
b) public school
c) private elementary school
d) university

Of course these aren't the only positions that offer daytime working hours, but it is a good start.

I have fallen into category A that I mentioned before for the last couple of years (MWF 9:30-6:30 and TTH 9:30-2:30). I will be in category B this coming year (M-F 8:30-4:30). It sounds like you are in an after-school hagwon if you start work in the afternoon.

This describes a typical PS job. Uni finishes even earlier; sometimes I'm finished by 11am.

I work from 2 until 9. I get one period off per day and a 15 minute break each night. The classes are 40 minutes each with a five minute break in-between. Hagwon, of course. I hate teaching six or seven classes in a row, but I am getting used to it.
