Can you imagine it. If any terror attack happnes here you know that they are so unprepared and they would blame it on the Americans or the Japanese. |

Instructions of Emergency Plans for Public Offices
The administrative office said on Sunday, "There needs to be a thorough counter-plan in case the terrorist threats such as suicide bombings on the Korean Assembly in Afghanistan by Al Qaeda is realized," revealing that it sent out "contingency plans for public offices in terrorist attacks and other catastrophes" to the central governmental building and also to major departments and ministers. The police also ordered intense inspections on cars parked for lengthy periods near the U.K. and Turkey Assemblies, as well as the monitoring of foreigner-driven cars and movements of loitering Islamic foreigners.

"monitoring of foreigner-driven cars"
Does this imply that only foreigners are terrorists?
Does it imply that foreign drivers are terrorists?

Do you think that maybe this is not coincidental, considering Rumsfeld was just here for a visit? The worst fear mongers are not the Al Kaida (however it is spelled) but the current administration. "Having trouble getting your public to accept you sending troups to fight terrorism? Maybe they are not suitable frightened. Let us show you how to terrify a population into submission, its worked for us for the last couple of years, we've set civil liberties back by fifty years, and people are sending their sons off to be cannon fodder." |

Al Qaeda has announced that it will target Japan, due to Japan's sending troops to Iraq.
Korea is now concerned that it's next on the list. |

Actually, if, per say, a terrorist attack was to happen. I could honestly see the Korean gov't kicking every Arab or moslem person out of the country. Kinda like what they did to the Chinese in the late 70's when they thought the Chinese were getting too powerful. Korea is not the "melting pot" that America or Canada is, so I know they have no qualms about "giving the boot" to the Arabs or Moslems if they @#$% up and do something as stupid as bombing a gov't building or such.
That, my friends, would be Korea's "contingency plan"
Besides, I think their compatriots would not let it come to that, since it would ruin their businesses and their chances of getting a "well paying" job at one of the "luxurious" factories in or around Seoul[/b] |

But I don't know that it holds true in all cases. Nevertheless, it is something that is usually neglected by most thinking and non-thinking Americans alike. |

That's going to be difficult. They would have to use Muslims from South-Asian countries. Have you ever been through Japanese Immigrations? I distinictly remember them having a separate line specifically for "Those of Arab decent".
We could never get away with that back home! |

That's in Japan, not the USA.
And if you were trying to be funny, ask yourself what percent of the world population would feel safer on a plane with no arabs?
I'm not trying to say if it's right or wrong... only asking if you think the other people would feel safer? |

And this is precisely what Al Qiada wanted too; to foster the divide some more.
Ultimately it will be the Arab and Islamic worlds that can resolve this issue - but I don't think they will. Unless they deal with the sick f@#ks in their societies we're pretty much stuck ducking and covering.
What frightens me is how people forget that you've got religious nutjobs who will kill ANYONE - including themselves - in this global terror. People go after Hitler Bush's foreign policy and forget that these nutballs blowing stuff up tried to do it BEFORE Bush and wil do it FTER he's outo f office and will NEVER stop. They've made it clear.
I think that this won't end in our lifetimes. The pandora's box was opened.
Yes - it was Islamists. Yes - it involved arabs. No - not all. Factions. The US government even trained some of them via the CIA - but the point is this: it's impossible to end it unless those who are in the Islamic and Arab communities weed out the roots that rape their culture and beliefs.
I don't think that will happen. History shows us otherwise.
Joe

Fear that Islamic militants might be trying to enter the country, where 37,000 US troops are stationed, is real.
An al-Qaeda terrorist entered South Korea this year from Southeast Asia and collected information about major US facilities, possibly as potential targets for attacks. The terrorist was apparently arrested in a third country and is now under interrogation in the United States. The National Intelligence Service (NIS), South Korea's central spy agency, refused to comment on the reports.
