So, I went the hell getting my criminal check, etc all ready for a recruiter, send them off and...it's been going on 9 days now since my stuff was delivered according to fedex, and I haven't heard anything from this guy.

He ha my criminal check and my diploma, but no passport or anything, so i can't see the upside to him like, just taking it or anything. I'm thinking about sending a friend over to his "office". The number I call just gets me a message.

I don't even think I should give him a warning (he might bounce or something)

?

I still have friends there, so I'm thinking of sending one over to the office and seeing what the deal is.

Is there a recruiting company with a name?

Or just a recruiter with a name?

Hopefully it is not a scam...I would order a 2nd copy of my diploma just in case, sometimes it takes a long time to obtain a duplicate copy of the diploma. good luck, hope it works out.

alright, I may be overreacting; apparently there's been big holidays all week. Maybe it's just bad timing. I'll give it one more day.

You're not overreacting. Stay on top of this and order a replacement, just in case. Also, if your documents do end up stolen, contact the police ASAP.

Nine days?... something smells fishy.

You're worth a million won to the recruiter. Send your K-friends over to 'knee cap' him. Wink

More details:

The name of the recruiter is Hi-edu (haven't found any blacklist on them)
The place I sent my stuff to was in Jamsil
It was for a hagwon job
It's actually been 6 days since I was last contacted, which coincides with all the holidays...but still, who doesn't have access to work email at home these days?

Even (condsidering Children's Day & Buddah's Birthday) six days without a reply leads me to believe the recruiter is trying to set you up for the 'bait and switch'.

Start looking elsewhere.

Recruiter sounds like a shitbagger, eh? My gut feeling tells me you didn't do research on this meatswinger before you confided in him. If he bends you over, which I suspect he will, don't complain on Dave's ESL Cafe.

I did research this place, like I said in the OP...didn't find any blacklist info on him. I'm trying to think of what he could do with my diploma or criminal check, and can't think of much that would be profitable enough to afford an office in Jamsil.

My GF is gonna swing by the place, and just scope it, not confront anyone...I'll get a male friend for that.

Also, awesome attitude you have.
