Is P.S winter vacation typically in Jan/Feb? I'm talking High School. I know all schools are different, but I'm just asking for a generalization....

At my HS, the winter break ran from Dec 28th until March 3rd, although I was also given 10-days off over Xmas, partly because I agreed to do 3-weeks of winter-camp (3x50-minute classes per day) which ran from Jan 2nd to Jan 23rd. I was then off for the whole of February until the start of the new semester.

I hope my school does the same thing, I'm trying to plan my wedding and honeymoon. But when the school doesn't know days of anything makes it so friggin hard to do. I want to buy tickets now before they go way up.

Thinking I might just tell them the days I need off, and I'll take them without pay if I have too....

Yeah, just tell them about your wedding plans. You'll get 7 additional days off for your marriage. It's in your contract.

I saw the 7 additional days. I just planned my summer vacation, so I feel weird asking about more vacation, you know how Koreans are.

I wish they would give me a calendar when exams are an stuff, but they said they don't have one, and things aren't planned out.

That's a lie. At the beginning of each semester, each school has a tentative schedule. TENTATIVE...but they do have a schedule.

My previous ct fed me the same bs when I asked about winter camps. I asked him so that I can book my vacation with friends...he kept saying he didn't know. I asked about 5 times and finally just told him well I'm giong to book on it this date..and if the camps fall on or after that date, then I am unavailable and will not cancel my vacation. Suddenly, I knew when the camps were.

This semester, I have a new ct and she provided the school's schedule 1 week after the new semester started. I know exactly when there are school activities, vacations, exams, etc. It exists. Your ct doesnt want to give it you that's all.

I'll go to administration and ask them for a schedule. So from March 2008, they will know the schedule of camps, vacation and exams for the whole year, through March 2009?

Why wouldn't they make my life easier by letting me know all the dates? So frustrating!!

Anyone know how to ask for the school schedule in Korean? So I can write it down and just bring it into the admin office....

Are you getting married in Korea? The reason I ask is my PS would not give me my honeymoon vacation until I could prove I was married. They said I had to get the honeymoon authorised 2 weeks in advance, and I could not do that until I showed them my wedding certificate. Idiots!

Get all of this sorted out before you make any plans that could cause you expense. I ended up doing the paperwork a month before in order to get the authorisation.

Laughing Laughing Laughing You don't need to show them any proof of marriage. Where does it say that in your contract?

Just give them a written notice and get married.

I want to book the flight asap, it's not until Dec/Jan. Should I tell them now? I feel like they are going to hate me for already booking my summer vacation, and now my winter, and I"ve only been here for 3 months!

I guess I should tell them now so I can book the dates, and the flights...
