Can any of you recommend a reliable web hosting service that will host pages in both Korean and English? I need a service that includes a free site builder. It's for a Korean friend. I also need the service to have both English and Korean control panels or English control panel only (but one that supports the uploading of Korean language Web pages). Hope this question is clear. Thanks in advance for your help.

any English host will be able to do what you want. However if your friend is Korean and his target audience is Korean then it would be better to use a host based in Korea. Your friend should ask other Koreans for recommendations on a host - if he doesn't know anyone with a web site, visit web host review forums and get recommendations.

Thanks for your reply.

Actually, several English hosts I contacted said no, it isn't possible. One said I would have to set up two domains - one with a .ko and one with an .info.
I wanted to use an English host because I am going to be building the site with a site builder and want directions in English!

I've got Korean up on my sites with no problem. I'm not sure if my host has a site builder (I think they all do). I wouldn't use one since the code they output is crap.

If you want more info send me a pm.

HTML is easy to write for a basic web page.

ANY webserver can serve web pages (the text language used on the pages is irrelevant).

You can always use something like frontpage (part of the MS-office package) for building web pages with no experience (it has wizards and templates you can use as well). There are other packages that range from freeware to shareware to commercial grade as well for webpage construction.

You can register any domain name you want (with the appropriate registrar) and host it anywhere in the world. I host both a .com and a .ca domain web server on my PC at home in Korea. The person you were talking to who said you needed a .info and a .ko was talking out of his ass and obviously has no clue what he is talking about. (side note: Korean domains are .kr not .ko)

.

Thanks for the replies. I found a great service today. It's rated one of the top ten on two different sites. It's http://www.webhosting-top10.com/host53/ It's the first one.

$4.44 per month with tons of features others don't have. They can host in 10 different languages. For one year, you get 3 extra months, two years is six extra months free, bringing the monthly cost down to $3.55 per month. Their live chat is great and this way, I can build a professional looking site quickly.

I wanted a site builder because although I used to use Front Page for my own pages, it wasn't part of MS Office 2003. I have used Dreamweaver and other HTML programs to edit various parts of my sites and others' sites, but I wanted to do a quick and easy site that looks halfway professional, and though I am a writer and editor, I am not a graphics designer!

Thanks again for your help.

Well, I stand corrected by myself. Just opened MS Publisher and it seems you can do web pages from that section of MS Office. Duh for me for not checking it out!
