I have a Cyon SC330 cell phone. I'm noticing it's not too easy to add MP3s to it.

I've read in a few threads that Korean (or maybe just Cyon?) cell phones don't take normal MP3s, & thus you HAVE to purchase legit music.

So, what's the story?

MP3 file doesn't work on your CYON phone. File you have to upload is DCF file.

Oh OK, & I see some DCF converters online, so that's good.

If you happen to know- where's the media player on a Cyon phone? When I put in a Transflash card, it didn't automatically make any folders for music. Nor do I know where the player itself is, outside of maybe melonplayer, but that just takes me to their website on the phone.

Putting mp3s on our phone is not hard. I have a cyon too. You have to download the dosirak software. It converts your mp3s and puts it on your phone. It's similar to itunes for the ipod. The problem is that its only available in korean and you have to sign up for a password and id when you install the software.

basically your off better geting a mp3 player because these shit brick phones are not good at anything but texting and calling people. They are gimped beyond belief.

My old samsung MP3 phone was great - the SPH-M2500 model. simple software; dump your mp3s from your compy right onto & off of the phone. No muss, no fuss. The earbud headset even had a cd-remote style quick access, so you could keep the phone in your pocket or bag. The downside was there was no card-style expandable memory. So, to get 2 CDs worth of music meant low bitrates or compression software.

Sooooo, I eventually decided to retire it, and get a SPH-V4400. bought a SD card to go with it, and was looking forward to it.

Except, despite the English menus built into the phone, NONE of the anycall site software is English OS compatible. Essentially, I was informed, you need to have a Korean OS, download & install the Korean software, and be able to navigate it all in Korean. And for that phone, there is no remote available, either.

Oh - and forget your mp3s or other audio formats - they all have to be converted into Samsung's .sm3 formats. Kinda defeats the purpose of my sd card & 2.0 card reader/writer, no?

So, if you are considering a Samsung/Anycall platform phone, you might want to see about some of these things first. Don't know/can't say about other companies & platforms.
