Need to stop in Okinawa this summer for a couple of days and see some brothers.
Flights from here are pretty steep.
Has anybody ever gone to Oki from here, and if so, how did you do it, and how much did you pay?

if you dont mind going to Fukuoka by ferry or hydrofoil then take the plane to okinawa using jal welcome pass or ana (26,000yen rt) you can save some. but peak season you cant use it.

or take star alliance or one world airlines then stop over in japan you could buy rt for 20,000 yen.

I had expected to take the ferry to Fukuoka. I was originally thinking ferry to Fukuoka, train to Osaka, plane to Oki.

I will follow the links you provided, thank you very much, and see where they lead me. I'm only going to be there for two nights, so burning large on transport doesn't make sense. On the other hand, they are brothers, so if in the end, I have to fly first class through Singapore, so be it. (damn I hope not! lol)
