I have been working for three months now without getting pay stubs showing that I have medical and taxes are being taken out meaning I don't have a pension. I intend to stay for a while and I recently paid 400,000 won for medical expenses due to stress.
I work with an employee who has hacked into a co-worker's computer gotten passwords to monitor emails, reading deleting and then sending me emails under the ex-coworkers email to threaten me. He stole his credit card info, sent explicit pictures of him to other coworkers, and has created two accounts in AFF to claim one was gay and the other is very active in bed, if you get the point.
He has stolen employees work records and stated that he is going to send falsified emails to the authorities to screw over our boss. He also hacked into the computer at work getting all script password codes of the employees. therefore I can't use the company computer to enter my bank info, check my balance, or send transfers to pay my gas bill or bills in the USA. I can't use my computer at home to get into my bank account (the program doesn't work with my computer).
This co-worker does not like me much and I think it may be because I don't give him any attention or feed into his drama. So I am a bit worried that he may have plans for me too, but there really is nothing I can do about that. (not the issue just added stress working with him)
I was informed that my boss is deducting money from an employee's pay but we don't know where that money went. I can't go to the bank to check what my last monthly deposit was because I work during bank hours and eat lunch with the kids. Therefore I am not sure if my whole salary was deposited or if I got stiffed. I will be calling the bank after work to check my balance. It is limited to as what you can do over the phone with a bank teller here in Korea.
The computer hacker has also sexually harassed two Korean employees and my boss has done nothing to rectify either situation.
I only work with two Americans the computer hacker and a girl whose ability to teach is minimal. She has been asking questions about why she does not have med, internet or a working phone after 2 months. On Friday she was screamed at in front of the children and co workers and then threaten she was fired. It is frequent that our boss loses her anger and screams at the Korean teachers but this was the first time she let lose on an American teacher. It was so bad the employee went into a panic attack and missed a class.
I am very hesitant to ask questions about my medical, taxes and pension or any problem I have. I do not want to be fired, although I think I am the American teacher who teaches well and is not crazy. But I need my medical and cannot afford $400.00 medical bills especially if she is taking money from my pay and not telling me why.
I get paid again on the 26th and want to ask for a release of my contract if I don't receive a pay stub stating where my money is going.
I don't know how this works and I am wondering if she will deduct the flight cost to get me here or any other expenses from my last pay check. I have one week to prepare before I give her my thirty day notice on May 30th. I have been in contact with my recruiter regarding only the med and tax issues but nothing has been resolved. Saying anything to my boss is out of the question because she will either ignore me or yell at me which I would love for her to try on me.
Please help, if you have any web sites or If I can email you directly that would be great.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you |

If that's what ur contract says, then the hakwon will definitely deduct for the plane ticket.

Don't play email at work, close that email acct and open a new one, then do your emails from home or at a PC Bang.

Which program or software do u need? Maybe one of us can help u install it and/or direct you to a site where u can download it.
Don't worry about the job too much, it does sound crappy. One day you will be able to tell us the name of the school and recruiter--you will be able to help out another teacher...so ultimately this will all feel good, I promise!
Hang in there, it will be okay... |

Afraid of being fired is an excuse you've manufactured in your head... you'd be better off without the job. If you don't want to leave, gather evidence and get the 'hacker' fired.
Nobody here can give you any salient advice until you learn to stand up for yourself. |

You have a bankbook don't you? You should have gotten one when you opened your account. Use that to check your balance. You have zero breaks in the day? |

0 breaks, the breaks I do have are about 5 minutes or ten minutes between classes. I cannot leave during the lunch period. |

I wrote up my resignation today, and I am having dinner with a recruiter tomorrow. I am just nervous about how this will all work out and looking for advice or tips from someone who has been there and done it. |

You can check your balance with your bankbook at 7 in the morning...or 10 at night, all say Saturday and Sunday, any time the ATM lobbies are open! |
