I'm learning to ride a unicycle. I've had it about three weeks and can finally mount, ride, and rock. It's actually quite fun and a decent workout, although I've racked myself twice and banged up my shins pretty good.

Anyone else have an odd hobby?

I make boomerangs, keep an iguana and 4 tarrantulas, chip arrowheads out of flint, and am constructing a backyard rocket so that I can fly to the moon.

I had an Iguana for two years and it really grew fast and big. I fed it a strict vegatarian diet mostly dark greens no iceberg lettuce. Had a special lizard light bulb. There's a place market that sells them in Seoul. I'm 99% percent of the people who buy them are in impulse buyers and most die in a couple of days.

I used to collect and paint lead soldiers. I have some really nice Battle od Waterloo figures. I also collect fossils. Although I haven't found any in Korea.

I also do large Abstract Expressionist Paintings.

I kickboard. At least I did until I smashed the hell out of the last one I bought here and can't find any decent new ones (ie not Chinese like the last one).

I ask this bi-yearly and get ignored as often: anyone seen a decent kickboard/scooter/kickbike in Seoul?

I guess my oddest one is probably learning magic tricks on youtube. Most of mine are not that common but not weird enough to be exciting.

Hmmm... Never seen one of those before. Do you lug it up to the top of a mountain and ride it down?

I commish a fantasy draft league on the history of hockey.

Here is the sort of doosy one learns about...

British-born, Canadian-raised defensive left wing/centre Gord Pettinger won the Memorial Cup as captain of the Regina Pats and then went on to win four Stanley Cups with three different NHL franchises (Rangers, Red Wings, Bruins) - something only 5 players have ever done - and was named the Red Wings captain after their 1937 cup and - as tradition - each player got the trophy to do what they will and he - umm - how can I say this... he crapped in the Stanley Cup. That's right. The captain crapped in the cup. Dropped a deuce. As a result he lost his captaincy and was traded. All official records of his short-lived captaincy were erased and only first-person accounts of teammates preserves the story from oblivion.

Some days it seems like an odd hobby.

With my cheap piece of crap Chinese scooter, the slightly less steep parts definitely. With a decent scooter the steeper parts definitely. Though I prefer taking the brakes off and street riding. Though once going down Duke Street in Halifax I tore open the toe of my sneaker and ripped a chunk out of my toe.

I take pics of me being all cutesy, places I go, things I eat, and cute things in general, and I put the pics up on my cyworld page for my lovely ilchons and some for the general public to see.

While not "odd" I also make foods from all over the world and I love to bake! I plan to start making my own jewelry soon, and I like flower arranging. hohoho Razz
