I've yet to come across a palatable .5% beer in Korea....and steer clear from "Elite". Horrid and rancid.

there isn't really a market for non-alcoholic beer in korea so it's not going to be found in any traditional grocery stores. best bet is to find some stores in seoul that specialize in western goods. i think one place is called the Red Door? in itaewon. i'm sure people from seoul can elaborate.

otherwise...maybe find someone with access to the commissary at a US military base. i'm sure they'll have some.

btw: i'm sure there will be plenty more sarcastic comments from people!! don't be discouraged-

Mike, if you leave some beer in your glass it won't be refilled.

Alternating between a drink and a water is another strategy. Or even the shandy (beer and cider) I find it tastes better than Korean beer, explain to your Korean friends its an old western custom.

If you don't want to drink fine, but I find Korean beer tastes like piss and I only drink it because of the alcohol.

I haven't seen it in a while, but there used to be a Cass equivalent non-alcoholic beer called Cash. They used to serve it in the non-drinking noraebangs...

Pregnant all last summer, craved beer. Couldn't find any decent non-alc stuff here. It's available, but it's utter crap.

I loved going back to Canada for a wedding - there were tons of tasty near-beers at the supermarkets... So I brought my own six pack to the wedding and indulged.

People gave me dirty looks... I guess drinking .05% alcohol is just too risky for them. Like being pregnant turns off your taste buds...

I thought shandy was beer and lemonade. Beer and cider is called snakebite and gets you more pissed. Many pubs in the UK refuse to serve snakebite for that reason.

I can't find it anymore but a local 노래방 used to serve cans of "Hate" which was Hite's non-alcoholic beer. I really, really badly want to find a can of Hate. Not to drink, but to keep forever.

You are right, I have been here to long, I was referring to lemonade as cider.

A snakebite in Australia is a shot of chatreuse (sic) with cointreu (sic).

I had one a week ago was at the multi bang and didn't notice (i suspected but couldn't be arsed to check) till i was half way through was made by Coors and was called Maltbrew or something. have also seen AF becks in E mart.

but both might be tricky to find, how about Cass light 4% i think and Cass Lemon 3.9%?

otherwise drink bottles when they drink hoff, drink water, shandy etc
any of the 5%s (except stout) gives me a headache before i get the slightest bit drunk also don't think they are that good.

anyone tried cass red the 7% lager? i'm sure it's crap but...
