Someone posted this in the Current Events forum. Didn't see it here. Ridiculous. Guy tells woman she can't sell kimbap in public at a demonstration, kicks over her stand, then pushes her back. When she punches him for being aggressive on her, he knocks her ass down in one punch and then kicks her as she is down. I can't help but think about my mother in this situation. I'd have knocked him out cold if I was there and been deported all in one day. Would have been worth it.

Yeah, young tough guy needs to learn some manners. He's lucky someone didn't hurt him properly. |

That's not exactly how my wife related the story to me.
She said the guy was rude to her, telling her not to sell her crap at the demonstration, so she responded with something like "you probably have no parents because if you did they would have taught you manners." He then proceeded to punch her.
My wife asked what I would do if someone did that to her, knowing that I'm a pacifist and against violence. I told her she'd have to come visit me in jail b/c I'd go to town on them and put them in the hospital or even the morgue. You can attack me all you want, I'll just walk away. But if you even touch my wife or baby, you're dead.

A brave guy indeed. I'd like to wish that he wouldn't have many friends after that, but over here I can't say I'm so certain of that. |

I'm disappointed the guy was able to walk away of his own accord after watching that. I'm not really an aggressive person, but punching and kicking an old woman is not on and you really need to learn the hard way via a beating if you think you can do that and think it's ok.
If the punk did that in a western country, he'd be carried off by ambulance. |

I think in circumstances such as this it would be legitimate to pound the guy that assaults the old woman/man.
My friend was at Sangsu Station about a year ago and saw an argument between a very old man and a young man, both Korean. It ended up with the young man pounding the haliboji right smack in the jaw. People just standing there as if it were another day.
"Gee this is interesting, I think I'll just stand here and watch this old man get his ass kicked by this punk, and I won't do anything, no, I'll just watch." |

So what did your friend do? Intervene to help the old man, or just stand and watch? |

Nobody deserves to be punched out. If the old lady had assaulted the guy, the worst that should've happened to her is arrest and prosecution. The same applies to the guy on the tape. The worst that should happen to him is arrest and prosecution. |

Went up and asked the man in Korean if he was okay. The old man walked away without saying a word. |

This was on the news last night before the major story about the Chinese Earthquake. The police arrested the guy eventually and showed him in front of everyone and they asked him why he done it. Well he gave his reasons, and got booked for assault. |
