Hi, I'm considering going with a school in Amsa and was wondering if anyone has any good or bad opinions on the place? What's the actual area like and are there things like gyms, western-restaurants, good shopping, etc, nearby? Many other foreigners in this area?
Is it easy to get to areas like Gangnam and Itaewon?

I was just offered a job there, too, and am wondering about the place.

Do you know the name of the dong in which the school is located?

Amsa, end of pink line, near Cheonho? Seems all right. Cheonho is a shooping area with Hyundai dept store, Emart, and other. Chamsil and Gangnam are near enough.

I live and work in Amsa-dong. I've been here for a around 3 months and on the whole I'm fairly pleased with my choice of location. I find the environment to be a lot cleaner than down town and you're guaranteed to be close to the river. To be honest, night life isn't that pumping but as a previous poster said Cheonho is close - and that's a pretty cool place to hang out... I wouldn't get too excited about the prehistoric settlement site though (I always see it mentioned on tourist info leaflets) - there really isn't much to it!!
