Recently, my LCD monitor just strated flickering occassionally. Now it is doing it more and more. My old CRT died early at this apartment and started off doing something similar. But equating CRT with LCD seems crazy.

What can be possible causes?

Is it possible I have really bad power? Could I be overloading a circuit and getting power fluctuations? My new computer draws a lot of power. The flickering seems to be random and at some times is very persistent and then I can go for horus without it. Could it be power-based?

I tried sitting at the BIOS once and I thought I saw the flciker. But I did it twice more for 10 minutes at a time each and didnt see the flickering - though it is hard to tell on the blue screen. I figured that if it flickers at my BIOS screen it isn't windows related. Should I try that again, is that a good way to figure if it is driver/windows related or not? IOW if it flickers on the bios screen it MUST be hardware?

Just looking for some ideas here as I start troubleshooting. This is very frustrating as I am in over my head with a hugely expensive computer that just has been giving me one issue after another for 4 months straight. When does it ever stop lol?
