So I've been going through the craziness with fines and visas and ARCs. I got a my ARC and visa transferred and extended. Then Immi did a check and saw my uni wrote a different date on my contract than the what they wanted, so they fined us. Before paying any fines, my uni went down there and today I get a call from them saying, "Get your things in order, you're going on a visa run to Japan!"
WTF?! My visa has already been extended and transferred. How can I get a new visa in Japan if this little problem is now my black spot, forcing me to go back to the States for the magic interview? Can I get my docs back from the local Immi office to take to Japan? |

IF they are giving you a visa confirmation number and telling you to go to Japan - make sure you get the name and contact number of the immigration official so that when you get to Japan, IF there is some problem, you can get it worked out ASAP between the consulate and immigration officer. |

Pure speculation here, but perhaps they're switching you over to an E-1 to avoid all the E-2 tomfoolery?
I agree with ttompatz: find out exactly what this visa run is all about and get contact numbers before you go anywhere. |
