okay, heres the situation. my contract ends november 24th. my school tell me they can't pay my final months and severence until december 15th. i plan to go away to phillipines for 2 weeks anyway at the end of my contract so am now changing to 3 weeks so i get my cash before finally leaving korea then i can consult someone if i dont get it then. id rather just 2 weeks really but dont want to finally leave korea without it.

the school acknowledge i am owed it on the last day but simply say they dont have enough cash. ive been to the labour board but whatever the school says they cant do anything until after the date the contract ends when they will give the school 2 weeks.

so i reckon stay in the phillipines longer and just chill out somewhere cheap for the extra week, come back around the 15th. if the money isnt deposited go back to the labour board so they can hassle them

Really looks like a good plan to me. Just say you will be back on the 15th to collect it.

Only in Korea.....They will mess up and inconvenience you at every step. Sometimes I wonder if Koreans genetically lack sense and common courtesy, or if its a cultural thing/ Why do they always do everything the hardest, most difficult and inconvenient way possible????
