Hey guys, I've seen so many ppl with the DS that I've become interested in getting one. They seem amazingly fun haha. Im wondering is it ok to buy a Korean DS? I will be going back to the US in 3-6 months, will having a Korean DS screw me over in the US? what is the difference between a US and Korean DS?

Theoretically there shouldn't be a difference. The DS, unlike the Wii, is region-free. You can buy a DS here and it'll work the same as a DS from the US, Europe or Japan.

From what I have read, nothing.

You will need to get a new power supply for the States once you get back, but it should operate in both countries ( I will say that is going off of other people I know saying it works, plus my American DS working inversely here..), and it is one system that plays all regions of games -- that is something I know for sure.

I think the only difference is the default language setting. They sell Korean, American, and Japanese models in the Yongsan and Nambu electronics markets. It might be annoying to go and get a converter to charge the thing once you get back to the US, so if you get a non-American model I suggest buying a cable that lets you charge with a USB. Also, Nintendo USA might not offer service if you have a model from outside the country and something breaks.

I brougth my Canadian DS to Korea last year, it is region free and I didn't have to buy a power convertor I only had to get a regular Koreasn DS adaptor. Get one and you're good to go.

Yeah, you DON'T have to get a converter for the DS, only a new power supply.

If you buy a DS here make sure they give you a usb connector that way you can charge it using your computer where ever you are.

I was helplessly addicted to Picross for some time. I've finished every puzzle except for the last one in normal mode. I wrecked two touch screen protectors.

I have a DS in the US and didn't even bother to bring it over here. I'm not fan of the whole touch screen thing.
