Security worries and concerns over the state of the pitch are dominating the build-up to Wednesday's all-English Champions League football final between Manchester United and Chelsea in Moscow.

English fans have already started arriving in the Russian capital with an estimated 42,000 expected to make the trip.

It is the first time two English clubs have reached the final of European football's premier competition. But that has raised fears that English fans' reputation as troublemakers could lead to violence and confrontations with heavy-handed Russian riot police.

Here's why I think this is all good news no matter how it plays out. It's win-win-win-win.

First off: two English teams in the Champions League Finals!!!! No matter what, it's a win!

Second: if there isn't any trouble, we can say the fans are well behaved. Win!

Third: if there's trouble and some fans get beaten the crap out of, we can say they had it coming! On the other hand, if they beat up a few Russian police, we can say they're hard! Win-win!

No matter what happens, it's all good. It's a win-win-win-win situation. Where else can you see that?

I would like to see all important soccer matches held in Russia. There is nothing in the world I enjoy more than seeing hardass russian troops/police beat the living crap out of low class troublemakers.

The only thing that could make me happier is if it were A.C Milan and Juventus in the final, their fans almost beg a good beating. The russian police should aslo beat the players after the match for playing such "faggy" football. I would like to see them legitimately rolling around on the ground in agony for once. Wink

Ya know, whenever some Brit on this board or another forum starts to assume the colonial sneer, the one that purports that the English are more civilized than the rest of us, I'm fond of recalling their football fans and events like the one described here. Twisted Evil
