|
|
Hi, my name is Holly and I working in Daejon three years ago. Since then I have been counseling, working at a gym as a personal trainer and Pilates/yoga instructor, and going to school for massage therapy. I love Korea and my boyfriend and I want to come back to Daejon. We were thinking that He could teach and I could have a practice of massage, counseling, personal training, yoga, and Pilates. These services would aimed mostly at English speakers. How do you think something like that would go over? do you think there are enough of the westerners work out to make it worth it? I know Seoul would be my best bet, but I love Daejon. Thanks everyone! |

Have you checked the legality of your plan? Foreigners can only have jobs when Koreans can't be found to do it. It looks to me like there are plenty of Koreans who can teach yoga, etc. |

Right, well I'm only planning to be there a few months and I was planning on having a tourist via and working with foreigners privately because at least when I was there there we no English Yoga classes, counseling options, personal trainers, etc. and I know I would have appreciated something like that. I was in a Korean yoga class, but it was tough not to be able to communicate with the teacher. I just wanted to keep up my practice while I was there. Anyway, maybe it's a bad idea, but thanks for the feedback. |

It's a very bad idea to work on a tourist visa in this country. |

That, and foreigners are forbidden from the massage business under any visa. |
