I have handed in all my documentation to worknplay and they recruiter responsible for my application has told me that GEPIK will send me the
'letter of appointment' through the post.
Is this correct? Can anyone tell me the procedure for GEPIK between sending all your documentation to them and getting on the plane?
Cheers! |

They send you the letter, you go get the visa, you get on the plane, you arrive in Korea, you go to your school, they show you around (grand tour), they show off their new foreigner, they take you to your apartment, you get some sleep, you go to work the next day and your life in Korea begins.
In a few cases, you actually get off the plane and go to an orientation but that won't be happening any time soon so plan A is more likely what you can expect.

Cheers Tom - What I meant is that the recruiter in question wanted my home address because she is going to post the letter rather than send it to me in an email attatchment (which is what happened the last time I
got an E2. (Admittedly from a hagwon)
It just sounds strange in this day and age of computer technology! Cheers Mr Ppatz! |

You don't like the smart arse cracks that you dish out on here thrown back in your face do you? Twat!
As your dad should have taught you as a young child 'if you can't take it, then don't dish it out' |

this jives with what I saw and heard..
if you apply to GEPIK directly you don't get a visa issuance number, you get a letter of appointment.
though I went to work for a GEPIK school, I applied to the school directly thru a recruiter, so I was issued a number but if you apply to the general bureaucracy, a letter of appointment is all you will get.
I would imagine you still need that letter to get whatever you need at the local Korean embassy? If I remember correctly at my US consulate, some incoming GEPIK teachers were getting their E-2's with said "letter of appointment". |

I see, now I remember - the last time I got an E-2 visa, I got a number and filled in the visa application form! So I imagine the 'letter of appointment' is the same but I find it a little strange that they post it on to you rather than email you, I have never heard of it before thats why I was asking - Cheers Bogey! |
