I'll be flying into HCM in a couple of weeks and I have no real plan or itinerary. I've been there once before, about 6~7 years ago, and would like to do the Mekong Delta tour again, but also want to get out of the city after a couple of days. A beach would be nice, but not essential.

I'll be traveling on my own, so boredom is a potential issue, but I'm also not after the crazy nightlife scene (if I wanted that, I'd go to Phuket - again...)

So, any thoughts or recommendations as to what I should do with a week + of free-ramblin' time on my hands in Vietnam?

pity you're not flying into Hanoi. I loved Hanoi so much I stayed there 3 weeks then went to Sapa, all around the North...

But since you're in the south...I heard the scenery around Dalat is amazing. You could hire a motorbike or go on one of the tours, I heard they're really good. Or head up to HoiAn...
