Due to the differences in emissions standards it is not feasible to take a Korean car, made for the Korean market, and shipping it to the US. There is no reason to take a car from here and ship it back home.
If the car is US spec and was originally shipped over here from the US (diplomat or service member) then the car can be shipped back to the US. The car would have to undergo inspection to ensure compliance with all US standards. However, the shipping fees and such usually make this pointless.
I don't have a cost on shipping to the US, but a friend shipped a vehicle from the US to Korea for $3,000USD. |

hey creesschaef,
on your quote form shipping from US to korea, would you know if that $3000 was the total cost or just the shipment. i heard about import tax fees and other taxes. i am trying to find the actual numbers and percent to see if it was really worth it considering cars in korea are more expensive. what do you think and thanks! |
