I just returned recently from some overseas trips and had great difficulty exchanging US cash. Most exchange places I went to overseas will only accept new money in perfect condition.
Years ago they would accept US dollars in any condition but not anymore. They will not take soiled, ripped, marked, frayed, corners missing etc. Before you travel, make sure the cash you get from banks here in Korea is in perfect condition.
I have some US cash with pen marks on it, and on my trips it had the value of a Confederate dollar. The only place it can be spent is on the army base or back in the states.
Just a heads up to any of you planning a trip abroad. |

The U.S. Dollar, soon to be defunct like the denarius. Get with the times, use Visa. Call your bank ahead and tell them what countries you will be visiting, before the U.S. dollar falls like a bald eagle with a broken wing. |
