I have about a 4000 dollar check heading my way from the states.

Can Korean banks deposit foreign checks. It isn't a personal check. It is from a business account.

You can deposit it.

It may take a month or so to clear and they may charge you a clearing fee (depending on what bank you deal with and how long you have been there and what other services you use.)

I receive large checks like that - NO WAY I'd trust a Korean bank with one - !!

Remember, they must keep track of the actual check and return it overseas for reimbursement - if it's lost, well, guess who's gonna suffer?

when mine arrive, I take it straight to Federal Express, sign, insure for the amount of the check, and send it straight to my bank in the U.S. - they have a special "bank by mail" address also - so if you have a bank there (or in your country) ask about this. Otherwise, I'd send it to a parent or someone you can absolutely trust to deposit it for you.

Since I bank online, I can see when the check is deposited and when it clears. If I did it here, well, I can't even begin to imagine what kind of nightmares of stress I'd be having.

good luck!! Cool

They'll deposit it. I deposited one for $30,000 not long ago. It took 4 weeks to clear, but they did cash it.
