A "Flurry of activity" has been reported, and credible rumors are surfacing involving an "attack of some sort" on The Mars Phoenix Lander, which was earlier reported to have landed safely today on Mars today.

Officials are very tight-lipped, but rumors are that photos taken around 9:43 p.m. ET are revealing something, "spectacular, alive, and very horrible" inflicting some form of damage to the craft.

In an event which may add some credibility to the story, President Bush's advisers have canceled his entire slate for Monday.

After completing a 296-day, 422-million-mile journey, the probe closed in on the Red Planet earlier today in what was meant to be a historic mission to take soils samples and test for polar ice.

Geez the mere mention that a living organism attacked the lander is enough to make the story bogus enough.

I'm more shocking, that the OP was even put out there, than if there really had been an lifeform on mars. I really can't even comprehend where this thread is supposed to go. Lamest joke ever? Worst troll ever? It's baffling!
