|
|
I have been noticing very little mention of these visa changes that were supposed to be allowing more countries to send English teachers to Korea. I was worried about this initially because India has a billion in population so it would only take a very small percentage to have a material effect on our job situations here. Even if they didnt replace us entirely, it could have easily been a situation where our wages saw decreases. Personally, Im not willing to do this job for anything ess than I am making.
But there has been almost no discussion about this and May/June was the period for when these issues were supposed to be raised. Maybe the mad cow nonsense has diverted some attention but at this rate it is starting to look like it is going to be a total non-issue. |

Don't worry, Rajinder and Juan are not going to take your job away. It's a nonsequeter from the start. Internal Korean politics will make sure of it. |

If anyone from India or Pakistan can do my job as well as I do, for less pay, I would have been replaced by now. |

A recruiter told me that Philippinos are now permitted to teach here as native teachers on E-2 visas. |
