I was offered a position at a summer camp by a woman I used to work with.
What do you think about 25,000 per hour? Six 40 minute classes per day? living accomodations provided? All at a University.
What is the standard hourly rate? I was thinking 50,000 per hour. |

Lekker,
Just because it's at a university doesn't mean it's organized and/or managed by a university.
At 25,000/hr X 6 hours a day = 150,000 X 5 days = 750k/week, or 3.0 mil/month. That's not too bad, if you have no costs associated with teaching.
If you are E2, then you SHOULD (note: SHOULD) pay your standard tax rate on the additional income. If you are a C visa holder, deductions are in the 20-25% area, so keep that in mind.
If the curriculum is ready and set to go, 25k is a bit low, 30k/hr. is more reasonable. But either way, it's 6 hrs./day guaranteed, right?
If there is preparation time, or you are required to eat meals and/or spend evenings with camp participants doing the "relaxation" thing, i.e. games, movies, sports, then you should ask for something more.
Good luck,
