I know there are plenty of police stations that do fingerprinting, but I don't want to have to spend a Saturday hunting everywhere for one. Is it possible for people who have been to one and been successful on getting fingerprinted for their background checks post the location of the station here?

Specifically, I'm looking for one in the Suwon, Dongtan, Hwaseong area, but I could travel to Seoul if need be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated by myself and many others. Cheers.

Got mine done at the main station in Seodaemoon gu. Not sure if you have to do it on a weekday though. You may want to check out the one at Namdaemoon too. It is right across the street from Seoul Station. The little stations you see in every neighborhood will not do fingerprinting. Has to be one of the larger district stations�or at least this what officers in Seoul told me. Just stop into the nearest small station and ask them where the district station is.

Not sure where you are from but if you are American you can print off an FBI fingerprint card from the FBI's site onto regular paper. The Korean police put my prints on this. If you are not American I would talk to someone here from your country to find out what is acceptable. Communicating first hand with the agency you will be sending your prints to is the best. Sometimes people here over look small but important details as I am sure I am.

You may also want to get two sets of prints as they may mess up on taking one of them and you don't want to have to go through the hassle (or expense) twice. Fingerprinting is free, but I am referring to the cost of sending documents, wasting time and everything else involved. Also, make sure the officer stamps (and writes his name) whatever you have them put your prints on so it looks official.

My friend and I had our prints done by a station in Jongno (Seoul) literally around the corner from Insadong. We initially stepped into a substation near the National Folk Museum. They looked at us like we were crazy when we said the US Embassy would not fingerprint us. After calling the embassy, and finding out we weren't crazy, they drove us over to the main station in Jongno. They were very nice and efficient.
