We are moving back to the States and taking our toy poodles with us. I was wondering what other people's experiences have been flying with dogs. I've never done it before so don't really know what to expect. The dogs are too heavy to be taken into the cabin with us so will travel in the cargo area. We are flying the middle of July so are taking a direct flight as Japan and some other countries have strict regulations concerning summer temperatures.

Any advice you can give will be appreciated.

Contact your airline - they all have different rules and regulations about flying with your pets.

You also need to have the shots up to date - esp. RABIES. I am NOT sure about the specifics of the documentation anymore.

Thanks for your advice. BTW, I found all your posts about the Philippines very informative when planning my trip to Boracay this last February. Thanks!
