Not for teachers, mind you, but this is how much some overseas English camps are going to be charging for tuition, this summer (airfare not included). I'm assuming that this will be the high-end, but that domestic camps will also be raising tuition big time, as well.
It'll also be interesting to see if native teachers will be in a position to negotiate for higher salaries or if domestic camps will be bringing in Filipinos to keep salaries in line.

The camp at the Minjok Leadership Academy in Gangwondo charges somewhere around 5 or 6 million for the month, per student, which could be a little expensive when you consider the average annual income in Korea is less than $20,000. |

Wow, that is real expensive. I organised a tour to the UK for 2 weeks over Xmas and New Year for young students. I charged 2 million won per student and that included flights, host families, activities, transport, taxis, etc. I didn't have to dip in to my personal cash and at the end of the 2 weeks, I made a reasonable profit.
Some parents are really taken for a ride if they would pay up 10 million won for 5 weeks, where kids all share some accommodation and they don't even stay with a host family.
Shocking. |

Many hagwons that teach SAT for overseas students charge 5-6 million won per month for daily classes--no camp. |
