Here's the skinny:

I am from the USA and I married a Filipina last year in the Philippines. She was a single mom (one daughter 3 years old).

I just arrived a few weeks ago from the Philippines. My boss assured me it would be no problem getting both of them here. Well it took quite a bit of work to convince the Korean Immigration to allow my wife to come but they finally approved. However bringing our daughter here is proving to be even more problematic. Thing is I never legally adopted her.

Any idea as to how to go about getting our daughter approved?

Thanks

My wife is philippine and I brought her here with out much problem, but a lot of red tape. I can give you no advice on bringing your daughter here except for one thing. I would only approach the main immigration office in Seoul, not the local offices to try to resolve it. IF you can, call and ask for the deputy director at the Seoul office of Misistry of Justice. He lived in the US for three years while getting a USA law degree. He speaks excellent English and is a really nice man. If there is any chance of getting your daughter here he is it. He may tell you you have to adopt her first. What ever he says will be the real thing though, with clear cut actions you will need to take, without all the runaround. Good luck.

put her in your luggage. If she's light she could be a carry-on.

Why did immigration give you hard time to bring her daughter? I know filipinas that have brought their kids over who are married to military guys through the SOFA visa. Why can't she bring her over as her own dependent? Maybe you should try another immigration office. Confused
