OK, it's done. A thread all about cigars, and it's about time.

In most articles I've read, people don't really talk about having cigars. Really. Even the publisher of that really famous cigar magazine.

So here it is. A place to vent and post anonymously.

When do you first ligtht up? What's your favorite smoke? Best place to have a stogie in Seoul?

Funny stories?

Suggestions for cutters? Cases? Humidors? Lighters?

I hear Hamilton Hotel is the place for cigars in Seoul. I also hear they are pricey. Any other suggestions? I am not a regular smoker, but enjoy one now and then on a beach.

I like the fact that it is illegal for an American citizen to have a Cuban cigar anywhere in the world. Good luck enforcing that, Uncle (Big Brother) Sam. They do have Cubans at the Hamilton, too.

LOL, I got so excited to see a thread about cigars on here that I forgot to actually answer the OP's questions, sorry. I wasn't trying to spam the thread, I just thought people might be interested in the above.

My first cigar was smoked probably around the age of 17, with high school friends. We usually smoked cheap gas station cigars like Swisher Sweets and Dutch Masters while shooting off illegal fireworks at the pop warner fields late at night. It was a blast.

Right now I'm partial to Partagas cigars. I like smoking on the roof of my apartment building at night, but it's not quite warm enough for that yet, so I usually wait for the SCAS meetings once a month. Can't wait for tomorrow!

My first cigar was when I was 15. I swiped it from my dad's humidor. It was a Romeo y Julieta Numero Dos. It's still my favorite cigar. I stock up on them when my wife goes home to visit family. She picks them up in the Amsterdam Airport. She can get a box of R&J #2s for about 40 Euros (Cubans).

My favorite place to smoke is by the river here in Miryang.

Huge fan of most robustos hand rolled in Honduras; partial to Nazareth's Fine Cigars. Check out Casa Del Vino in Cheong-Dam Dong -- pricey but the stogies are well humified. The barkeeper is generous with 18 YO single malt testers...

Hey, seriously, thanks for posting that cigars and cancer link. A few months ago I was doing some heavy research through medical journals on the topic and it seemed like very little research had been done on cigar smoke.

I'd never thought of checking out the Cancer Society's page.

I've been smoking cigars on and off for about 5 years. Last December my brother brought me back some Monte no. 4s from Cuba and those got me hooked and wanting to try all different kinds of cigars. Before that I was just smoking what ever was cheap from the local corner store with a cabinet humidor. I love trying new cigars and have only bought a handfull of the same cigars so far.

Some humidor advice. If you wanna save money get a big tupperware container or a cooler, get some empty cedar boxes and a humidification device and you got a nice big humidor for cheap. For humidification I recommend RH beads. I get mine from here http://heartfeltindustries.com/categories.asp?cat=11.
They work great and you can get them in 60% 65% or 70%.
