WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush on Monday lauded U.S. troops as "an awesome bunch of people" and lamented that some of them have had to die in defense of freedom.

He's the best, isn't he? How many more days until he gets the hell out of the White House?

All he has to do now is replace people with "dudes" and he'll be embraced by the bro community of socal.

the president should use formal language at all times especially when talking with soldiers in the military. No informal language or slang is allowed.

230 some odd days until I don't have to hear people with BDS go on and on and on

Maybe in the wake of 911, he gave up on formal language. Don't make fun of his sacrifice.

I doubt having the president call my dead son, who died needlessly in a pointless war, 'awesome' would really go any way to make me think that it was worth it.

It smacks of a 'Bill and Ted' attitude.

Conservative 'leader' David Cameron in England is going along the same lines with his "Call me Dave'' and his 'Webcameron' thing. Stop trying to think that you can be chummy with us!

Plenty of time to invade Iran and North Korea. Lazy bugger.
