I've recently been offered a position that starts ASAP for a short term:
June 10th-Aug10th teaching SAT prep.

What sort of working visa would be required? And how could I go about getting it as quickly as possible?

I have never had an Korean Visa before, does this mean I am unable to do the Japan visa run?

The school has offered to pay for a visa run, but I'm reading conflicting articles that say that is not an option for me because I have not previously had an E-2 visa..

Thanks in Advance!

That's correct...the Japan visa run is not an option for you. In fact...given the short amount of time...a visa would not be an option for you in this position.

If you have never worked in this country before....you will need that consulate interview.

First of all...what's your nationality??

If you're Canadian...and only plan on working June, July, and August....you do have the ability to come here on your tourist visa that lasts 180 days.

I'm actually a major opponent of this scenario...illegal workers hurt our industry...but it's not like it doesn't happen everyday.

However...there is the possibility that you get caught, arrested, detained and deported.

If I were you...and you really want to come to Korea...find a long term position...go through the proper channels...and wait it out.

I noticed on your other post something about getting your documents notarized here.

While the possibility does exist...there are mechanisms to verify documents at your respective Embassy (look up the sticky "authenticating documents from within Korea"), I don't recommend this option for you because you have not performed the interview.
