Thanks

1. Are you legal (F series visa)?

2. What are your qualifications?

3. How much experience do you have?

4. How much travel is involved?

And for the rest, you might be able to find some information on the 13 page 'PRIVATE LESSON' thread.

Well...here's the deal

1. I plan on going back to the Philippines soon. There are quite a few Koreans there that I can teach private lessons to (not illegal in the Philippines). I know I can't charge the same as I could here because they could get a Filipino to teach them for much less.

2. M.A. in Education

3. Taught at 3 Korean uni's, a year in Japan and year at a small college for Japanese students in the States

4. N/A

I was just wondering what a fair price would be here in Korea.

Thank you

You should teach your students for free. It's their god-given right to get free English lessons.

As I'm sure you know, you need to find out what a fair price in the Philippines would be. There must be other native speakers there tutoring Koreans.

If not, or you can't find out, how much do Philippino teachers charge? Charge 25%-50% more. Done.

What is your primary job there now? Just curious. Supposed to be a great place to live!

I know what a fair price should be in the Philippines if I teach privates there. I am just wondering what it is here in Korea so if/when they complain I charge too much I can compare it with what they would be charged back in Korea.

I was charging 500 pesos an hour. I did teach a brother and a sister for two hours and charged them 1500 pesos.

Some Filipinos will only charge 100 or so. They may or may not be that fluent in English but the Koreans don't know any better and think they are getting a good deal.

I was teaching at a college there. It kills me to think I came here and they were just about to offer me a job teaching swimming lessons to the freshman chicks. My wife was happy that it didn't happen Smile

If you are on an "F" visa you can discuss in the the sticky thread provided for said purpose.

IF you are on an "E" visa this thread is requesting information on how to commit a crime and is against the TOS.
