Unless things have changed since January (which was when I closed my account because they were not readily flexible), they have English internet banking.
Here's a link to their internet banking: http://www.keb.co.kr/IBS/nebanking/en/pb/index.jsp?vcode=07000000000000 |

Yeah. Why does it always cost me about 50 bucks to send money? That's ridiculous. Is there really a difference if you do it onlline? I'll have to ask my bank because I have to do a wire transfer soon.
I'm pretty sure it cost goes up as the amount goes up. That's BS, though.
I deal with Shinhan. I think the last time I wired money, it cost close to 50,000 Won. I sent 2,000 CAD. The recruiter for my new job wired money to my sister's acccount to pay for my criminal certificate to be processed and the amount was very small. |

Hana bank charges 19.500 won, I've never sent more than 5 million won at a time, but the fee has always been the same regardless of how much I send |

Strangee. Wonder why Shinhan was charging me so much. That is, of course, counting what the Canadian bank charges. There must be something wrong with how they charged me. I still have the receipts (or whatever they are) at home. I'll break it down on this thread later on. I'll go into the bank to ask, too.
Hmm.
Seems there were 2 or 3 charges... |

My bank in Canada takes off 10$ to get the money, if you have extra charges then it means that your money is being sent to your canadian bank via a third bank, who also takes their chunk. |

So, in summary, what would the cheapest way to wire money to Canada be?
Any info would be much appreciated! |

I bank with Shinhan and only paid 18,000 won a couple of weeks ago to transfer 1 million won overseas - so I would be interested to know what your 50,000 was specifically made up of. I used to pay a similar amount last year to transfer money back at a different bank. I was also very happy (because it was my first time at a new bank) when the money was in my home bank account the next day - a couple of days faster than I expected. |
